China's Ports are simply world-class or do they set the benchmark for the world? Their container shipping is world class in terms of volume and quality. Their capacity in ports and docks are beyond class. Shanghai surpasses Singapore in the throughputs of container handling….Building the largest container ship … The largest and widest roads .. Highest amount of hard forex… Wide spread quality education .. .The list is endless…
Indian ports are almost primitive, despite privatization and BOTs … Congestions are frequent …. … Container shipping is insignificant and poor … Our port capacities are only known by the nuggets of knowledge and wisdom from our Shipping Minister's lips with quality un-ticked …. Container handling is struggling to catch up to 6 million TEUS - that is 1/5th of only Shanghai's share …. India builds small & slow ships with costs that can dwarf the cost of building of a super large vessel in China … The roads are sub-standard … A perennial current account deficit …. Poor & uneven education system …. The list is again endless…
India grows at 9% and China probably same or a notch down? The odds are against us all along … What would happen to India if the odds are removed (after all they are doable and are held back by our governance deficit) ? Will there be any poor in India? Will India grow at 15% or even more?
